New museum artifacts :)
We have two new additions to the museum collection, courtesy of VCFed chairman Erik Klein: a Mark-8 and a Byte Shop Byt-8, both unassembled! This is VERY exciting stuff!!! The new-to-us Mark-8 will replace our current one, which was loaned to us from David Larsen.
Awesome stuff! Is the BYT-8 the full front panel version? Thanks, Jonathan On Thu, Jan 4, 2018 at 11:38 AM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

No. That's the first thing I checked. :) It is this version: http://vintagecomputer.net/byte/BYT-8/thm_byte_BYT-8_img1.jpg
Still very very cool. On Thu, Jan 4, 2018 at 12:15 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

also the Byte-8 is assembled but we also have an unassembled CPU card. The Mark-8 is partially assembled.

Yeah for various values of "assembled"... lots of parts to build in that box.
The Mark-8 is partially assembled.
What's also cool is we already had a replica front panel that someone made and sent to Jon Titus several years ago, who in turn sent it to us. So we can use that with this new system.
I've got assembled BYT-8 CPU board(s) if it's desired to keep the original unbuilt. The BYT-8 CPU board is really well done. IIRC the only other board they made was a 1/2K RAM board.
