WTB: Atari ST SH314 floppy drive and SC1224 monitor
Greetings! Title says it all. Only interested in working pieces. Not interested in risking sending a CRT through the mail. Let me know what you have privately. Thanks! Joe Giliberti
I am curious how easy it would be to find these and at what cost. Not easy to find items. Bill On Thu, Mar 3, 2022 at 8:04 PM Joseph Giliberti via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

and a quick check of ebay confirms it, they're expensive ... I remember when they were a quarter of the price. b On Thu, Mar 3, 2022 at 10:03 PM Bill Degnan <billdegnan@gmail.com> wrote:

The disk drive is more important for me to find than the monitor. I'd rather avoid using a Gotek, which makes having the higher capacity drive all the more important. If I need color, I can always use the RF Modulator. On Thu, Mar 3, 2022 at 10:04 PM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Best electronics likely had sc1224s though they'd need to be shipped. On Thu, Mar 3, 2022, 10:46 PM Joseph Giliberti via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

A few things. The Atari SC1224 monitor is pretty tiny physically, so someone should be able to wrap it pretty well and it survive. The SH314 floppy, I can't find a picture. But I can say that both my Mega 2 ST and Atari STacy have a style of floppy where the drive has an awesome looking contour that matches the case. Neither work. Something with age takes them out, and I never figured out what. If anyone knows, please advise. Side thing regarding Atari ST: I built this ACSI2SD board using the blue pill STM chip. I dig it. I plan to lay out a circuit board that: 1 You remove the DB19 from an Atari ST and solder this new board into the Atari that takes place of DB19 2 It would expose SD, USB and a switch to switch DC power between atari and USB(for firmware updates) through the DB19 hole on back of case 3 It has solder holes for the removed DB19 internally, it's not usable but a placeholder to keep the part with the machine inside (need to figure out clearing metal sheilds) 4 3d printed plate to cover the DB19 hole and allow access to ports Maybe a version for the STacy when I get around to opening mine back up. I did a ribbon cable that goes to someone else's ASCI2SD board meants for DB19, but it's sloppy as all hell. This wouldn't require a blue pill board, I'm trying to put those directly on PCB to make the whole thing smaller and internal. On Thu, 3 Mar 2022, Joseph Giliberti via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

Nice! My 520ST, the external floppy is aftermarket. I had one of the Atari floppies but it was a single sided version I think. Sold it at one of the swapmeets. I plan to do the 4MB upgrade and internal ACSI2SD. I have a Mega 2 and I mounted an UltraSatan inside of it since the internal floppy doesn't work. I should mess with it more. - Ethan

Just wanted to echo the 1224 is easy to ship. It's pretty much a cube with durable turn knobs on the side and it is pretty tiny. Also it appears some sf354s can be made double sided just by changing the mechanism: https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=16742 Btw exciting to meet more ST people! Enjoy!
