Moderate amount of visitors today (and yesterday). Some beach tourists, some locals. Neil stopped by today and got our new hotspot connected to our network, via the wireless-to-ethernet bridge from Dean. Neil had to change some network settings because the bridge wanted to use the same stuff as our firewall. After that (and after drawing a network map to visualize it all), the rest of the job was smooth sailing. So now we're back online, and supposedly this is a more reliable Internet connection than we had with the old Netgear modem. Jeff Brace and I will keep an eye on it. I am skeptical that a hotspot can run 24/7 but we'll see. Evan Koblentz Executive Director, Vintage Computer Federation evan@vcfed.org / (646) 546-9999 www.vcfed.org @vcfederation
Thanks to you and Neil! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. On Sun, Jul 14, 2019 at 7:18 PM Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

No problem, It was a pretty easy setup once Evan corrected my understanding. We just needed to be patient when the device rebooted. That part is a bit slow. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

If anyone's interested, our network topology goes: LTE >> hotspot >> bridge >> firewall >> switch >> nodes and wifi access point.
So what device did Mobile Citizen stick VCF with? The Coolpad Surf or Franklin R910?? On 7/14/2019 7:17 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
