Weird request: older CRT oscilloscope?
My kid is super-into older analog gear (they're big into the modular synth thing). Does anyone have an old greenscreen oscilloscope they'd like to get rid of? Smaller would be better (IE a desktop Tektronix, as opposed to a rolling cart sized one). Thanks! I'll be there Saturday :) -- Dave Shevett shevett@pobox.com

If you don't have any luck at the swap meet, let me know and I'll put your name on one here. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
I have an old student style 5 or 10MHz scope. I think it's labeled a Bell & Howell (not sure). It may need fixed, though. On Tue, Feb 22, 2022, 12:41 PM Dave Shevett via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Always consider the unrecognized secondary uses of the big Tektronix 500 series scopes: - Learning how to use a tube tester - Heating a small room - Adding weight to your car for better traction in winter On Tue, Feb 22, 2022 at 12:42 PM Dave Shevett via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I have a collection of 500-series oscilloscopes. Fantastic instruments, even by today's standards. If I didn't care about the power bill, I could do my "day job" with a 547. I have a 519 in my lab. (actually two) While not really a part of the 500-series, that model was a real achievement. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
The scope on my workbench is a 543 with a 1A1 dual trace plugin. While not technically part of the 500 series, a 585 was the first piece of tube equipment I successfully repaired. On Tue, Feb 22, 2022, 5:03 PM Dave McGuire via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
