We prepping projects for VCF? Working on all the broken 1541's? Or what?
Should we be bringing our own 1541's as well? I also have one of those previously aforementioned Indus drives (but I am missing the power supply so I have no idea of the status of the drive). Yes. :)

Came across this. Check out the writings at the end of the page. http://www.digitalresearch.biz/
All, For those new to workshops the idea is to pick a rough theme because then people will know what tools and parts to bring with them for shared collaboration. I'm game for 1541 repair why not. People coming to this event, among with whatever else also please bring working 1541 drives, 6502 and ROM chips, c64s that work, cables, and docs. With these we can compare and contrast working drives with non-working. That's the key to speedy repair. Bring also diagnostic tools related specifically to this drive, diagnostic programs, cleaning kit, power supplies etc. If everyone brings a little we'll be quite stocked with parts to use for testing and repair I have fixed a number of these and I have 10 or so that work. I will bring a few. Note there are variations of 1541s, it will be helpful for those who need repair help to specify which type of 1541 they have so we know which type to prepare to support Nothing wrong with bringing other types of drives too if that bakes your frijoles. I could also be convinced to being other cbm drive models if we were to expand to the entire CBM drive family. IEEE drives or serial. I even have a d9090. I will also bring some c64s to repair or anything commodore if that's the theme. Do I hear a 'second' ? Bill Degnan twitter: billdeg vintagecomputer.net
I can load up my c64 stuff. Might be a good idea to have a good inventory of what works, fix what doesn't, clean the drives, etc. since I need to start slimming down my collection anyway, it helps to have a good working knowledge of what I actually have. Unless someone wants to bring a table or two and help me go through my storage and sort though everything from computers and video game consoles to a few old pieces of furniture. I was planning on continuing my repair of my Commodore 64 computers and adding on Commodore 1541 drive repair. I know there are others who had started it last workshop and still have need of this. So I encourage others who are interested in this to bring parts, diagnostics, schematics etc. to make it easier. Others are free to bring what they want and work on it, and will get help from others there, but that will be *my* general them and I know there are three others that will be working on the same.
