Yes I mean registering and allocating enough tables for those interested 🙂 - andy diller

I'm still interested. I have terminals I can bring (mostly DEC but also some off-brands like Citoh) as well. Looking over the list, I could bring a SPARCstation 1 but that seems nearly redundant (along with a 3B1 and various other newer Sun SPARC machines). I have a Sun 3/60, a Pro350 running Venix, a Perkin Elmer 7350 workstation (System III), and a NeXT Cube in the "fits in my car" category. I do have a number of M68K machines, one of my personal focuses. I'm driving in from Ohio in a hatchback so that impacts what I can bring. Any of those sound appealing? -ethan

Someone should bring Amiga UNIX. Andy etc.: you're welcome to borrow whatever systems that might help from the VCF collection. After all, that kind of thing is why we have a collection!

I definitely considered that! I have lots of Amiga hardware.

I will likely send you a request or two off-list to see what's possible/reasonable. -ethan
Andy, I’m interested, and posted a couple systems to the list. - Alex On Wed, Feb 20, 2019 at 19:50 Ethan Dicks via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Ok - The systems on the google sheet are very interesting and will be amazing when this all comes together. I realize that in order to make this work we should all go reserve our own table(s) and specify "UNIX TOWN" where it asks for Co-exhibitor(s) -- list all co-exhibitor's first/last names and cities/states, or write "none" * That way we can all get put into the same area if we decide to setup a lan or other interesting things. Trying to organize tables beyond my own is cleary impossible. Once people have registered we can work with VCF and try to make sure we are in an area together and we have the March and April Workshops to try and meet and plan things in person. Thanks for taking the time to put your info on the sheet -- it looks like we have a wide variety of UNIX on a ton of different hardware platforms for people to look and play with. -andy
Yes, I’m looking forward to this! In the Xenix display Eric R and I ran 2 years ago, we had a guestbook implemented in a shell script, and other scrips sync’d the list between the Lisa and an IBM 5155 over Micnet. Would something like that be possible with this group display? IE something interactive, that is available on most of the systems? -J On Thu, Feb 21, 2019 at 10:21 PM Andrew Diller <dillera@gmail.com> wrote:

Works for me.
But, I need all of you to NOT PROCRASTINATE. I'll make the exhibit hall layout by early/middle of April. Happy to give "Unix Town" as much space as it needs, but once I put other exhibits on either side of it, then there won't be space to add any more. Slackers register at their own risk. :)
Yep. I got my tables. It's painless so let's make sure Unix town is all registered for Evan. As people register I'm asking you update the sheet. I'll add a column for this now. - andy diller

Cool. I'm registered. I'm also 2nd guessing only requesting one table... On Fri, Feb 22, 2019 at 6:52 AM Andy Diller via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

That would be great to have if you can get the Unix going on it. - andy diller On Feb 20, 2019, at 9:51 PM, Ethan O'Toole via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I put the Atari TT030 and my Sun Voyager on the Unix spreadsheet. I will start working on getting them kicking! One thing, I don't have an Atari VGA CRT for the TT030, I just use a VGA LCD. If someone has a VGA CRT we could run that instead if the goal is to keep it OG. - Ethan
Ethan, If you get one of these https://shop.inventronik.de/index.php?id_product=28&controller=product&id_la... <https://shop.inventronik.de/index.php?id_product=28&controller=product&id_lang=2> you can use most VGA monitors in TT HIGH. I have one and it works very well. -Pete

I recall reading that the Atari SVR5 required a special monitor - or am I mixing that up with the Amiga SVR5 UNIX? -andy

I signed up. I can pare down to 2 systems in the interest of spread, if that's helpful. I just put down some interesting boxes I have that weren't represented (and especially because of my fondness of the 68000). -ethan
