Re: [vcf-midatlantic] electronic and electromechanical games?
I have always thought the Compumatic Football was interesting, but I never played it. I did use electric football back when "electronic" meant giant simulate an earthquake that causes players to freak out and run all over the place. Does anybody here collect or know of a collection of electronic and electro-mechanical games? And related items? I've got a 1970 Compumatic Football I'd like to find a good home for and I'll probably eventually get rid of a bunch of my late 70s early 80s electronic games. Sure, I could put them on eBay or something but I was hoping there might be a person or display or something where these would fit within the context of tech and computing. I have several of the original Mattel games (from 1977-ish) in my collectio that are a lot of fun (and still playable) Here's a link on one i cleaned up and played with last year. https://youtu.be/xpy127j5ks8?si=_9mkWW1pChv0VcF5 On Wed, Jun 19, 2024 at 9:35 AM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I believe the games he is speaking of are the electromechanical ones that vibrate the playing board all over the place. But I have several of those Mattel / Coleco Handheld games from the 70s are used to play as a kid in school. Always gave you away when you got a touchdown!
