Did anyone else besides Dave Shevett and Ben Krein receive any vintage computer related gifts this month? I got The400 Mini, which is a modern reproduction of The Atari 400. I already have TheC64 Mini and TheC64 Maxi. I'm hoping to get TheA500 Mini someday! I use these when traveling long distances to vintage computer shows when I'm flying. Jeff Brace

Cool! I'd like to get a NABU some day. It was really cool 2 or 3 Festivuses ago when I saw it for the first time. Lots of interesting innovations for that machine. Also a lot of people like the challenge of fixing broken stuff as you can see at our repair workshops!

I'll probably attend the next repair workshop. :-) I'll work on the TS-803 (bad video) and the NaBu. I do need to find my memory chips. The NaBu is a very simple Z80 machine. But I need something to fix. I do way too much software and must have play with some hardware. :-) -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry kd2zrq@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies KD2ZRQ
I bought a IMSAI front panel reproduction kit (CP-A) for myself. It’s a faithful reproduction of the original kit that IMSAI offered back in the 70’s. This project is an effort to offer an accurate reproduction of a IMSAI 8080 that you can build today. It is brought to you by Neil Breeden II (ShadowTron Blog on YouTube) and Robert Weatherford (a former IMSAI employee). I will be building it in late February after I return from VCF SoCal. I will be a vendor there & have many boards to build & test before then, so no time for this kit at the moment. Here’s a link to the CP-A kit. https://www.parastream.com/imsai/boards/cp-a-ims.aspx Jeff On Thu, Dec 26, 2024 at 10:21 PM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

This is beautiful! Will this be available for a while, or is this a limited run? On Fri, Dec 27, 2024 at 10:08 AM Jeff Galinat via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Hi Chris, No, I think they are in it for the long run. They are also recreating other boards such as the MPU-A, SIO-2, PIO, etc. They are currently working with vendors to produce a full IMSAI chassis. That would be a whole lot of work for a limited run, but if you may want to check with them to be sure. There is a contact form at the bottom of this page. https://www.parastream.com/contact.aspx BTW, if you want to check out the build & test videos for the CP-A, has several on his ShadowTron Blog YouTube channel. I got The Spectrum. Programming on that thing is pretty crazy. Not retro-related, but I got a MacBook M4 Pro. Very fast. Runs the Amiga and C64 emulation great. Now I just have to get the C64 and Amiga cross-compiler tools built for it. I build them from source as I like to understand how they work, and I like the old school UNIX feel of building stuff myself. Not for the holidays, but I also recently obtained the C64 Reloaded MK2 for a custom C64 I’m bulling that I intend to mostly use as a Synthesizer. BTW. The C64Maxi is awesome. I just wish there was an easy way to plug a MIDI interface into it. But if you just want to experience using a C64, that’s about as good as you'll get without the real deal. I am looking forward to the Amiga Maxi ( or whatever they are going to call it ). - Derrik

Very nice! Enjoy the 400mini. It's fun to visit occasionally for sure. I have a Mister Pi FPGA arriving later today (stuck in shipping). Will use it to finally explore the Apple II a bit. On Fri, Dec 27, 2024, 12:20 AM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I got myself a gift of an Amstrad NC100 that popped up on eBay on 12/26 for a reasonable price even with shipping from Great Britain. ________________________________ From: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic-bounces@lists.vcfed.org> on behalf of Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Sent: Thursday, December 26, 2024 10:20:35 PM To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Cc: Jeffrey Brace <jeffrey@vcfed.org> Subject: [vcf-midatlantic] Holiday gifts 2024 Did anyone else besides Dave Shevett and Ben Krein receive any vintage computer related gifts this month?
