So what’s the point in announcing it now? If you have news to announce then just announce it. Otherwise how about not sending yet more email with no content that has to be deleted? Too much chatter on this list. What’s the unsubscribe mechanism? I don’t see that on emails. Bob

I'd suggest trying to turn on digest mode first -- sure, you won't get emails until the end of the day, but there will be a lot less to fill your inbox. Unless you really do want to unsubscribe. :) David

More army books from fee-bay? :-) :-) At least this list says [vcf-midatlantic] unlike that cc-talk thing where they refuse to inject the info in the subject line so it looks like the few spam emails that make it through the filtering. Also, at least in modern email clients like the one I use (Pine) it has a link at the bottom with the title "this email contains list management information."
Guys, I was just trying to build some excitement for the news later today.

Try to see the big picture. That acquisition was not random "army books". The books in question are extremely rare, worth WAY more than I paid, and relate directly to hugely important computer innovation at the base that's now our museum. They are a significant artifact that truly belongs with us.
