What is the schedule for exhibitors, and for vendors, to set up their spaces, before public hours? What can be set up on Friday? Also: Exhibits won't be open Friday, but will vendors (and consignment) be open for sales that day? Herb Johnson -- Herbert R. Johnson, New Jersey USA http://www.retrotechnology.com OR .net

Exhibit and vendor setup can start anytime Friday. Consignment items have to wait until Saturday when Kelly is there to process all the paperwork.

Can you be a bit more specific? Some of us work Friday and are hoping to drive up and do our set-up in the evening. Will the commercial area be open from about 6:30 until 8:30? Bob

Haven't yet decided what time we should close Friday night. We could close at 9pm and then all go for a late dinner, or close at 7 and return for more setup around 9. Open to thoughts on this....

Ps. I prefer the dinner from 7-9 option.

I vote for the 7-9 option. Not only is it a more sensible dinner hour, but it would allow late arrivals to work on their setup after 9:00. Mike Loewen mloewen@cpumagic.scol.pa.us Old Technology http://q7.neurotica.com/Oldtech/

Why not keep the exhibit rooms open to all that need the set up time, all evening. (Until??)... AND we all come and go to the diner when we're hungry, not so formal? As long as one person is keeping watch at the fort. There would most likely always be at least 10-15 of us at the Princess Diner from 6 till 11 I am sure. In short, two shifts, roughly spaced. This strategy takes some of the pressure to try to get set up during the day, missing classes to ensure set up is finished before dinner. Returning after dinner to set up is less desireable, eh? B

Update ..... Jeff Brace volunteered to skip the diner and stay at the show all of Friday night. This means we won't have to close for a couple of prime set-up hours that night. There are some exhibitors who aren't in our group, so (as always) there will be a logistics message sent to all exhibitors a few days before the show. The message will include all set-up details, an exhibit layout map, etc.
Thanks, Jeff, I'll bring you some leftovers from the diner. ;-) On Apr 5, 2016, at 1:30 AM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic<vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

I think for folks like me coming down after work on Friday that keeping open till 9pm is preferable.
