In light of this year's 6502 emphasis, I'll be exhibiting an HP 3000 Micro XE minicomputer from 1986, which of course has nothing to do with the 6502. :-) Different, larger system than last year, with monochrome and color graphics terminals and a 9-track tape drive. Classic 3000 architecture, running MPE/V. Mini collectors, who's with me? :-) Mike Loewen mloewen@cpumagic.scol.pa.us Old Technology http://q7.neurotica.com/Oldtech/
While the underlying theme is 6502 this year for obvious reasons, I’m looking forward to all of the “other” exhibits this year!! I love seeing so many things I never knew about or had any real experience with. It’s one of my favorite things about VCF East. Tony Sent from my iPhone

I asked if they would prefer OSI or PDP-8 and they suggested OSI so thats what I am planning. Logistics will be easy this year. On Sun, Jan 12, 2020 at 08:59:05PM -0500, Mike Loewen via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

I was planning another Cromemco display, but I could switch to OSI if we want to do a big group display. If someone has an OSI Challenger III they can bring, that would be awesome. When I was growing up, a family friend had one and I got to visit every once in a while and noodle around on it. Mostly I stayed in BASIC on the 6502 so I'd like to see what else it can do. Cheers, -ethan
I have an Ohio Scientific C2-OEM, but it needs some poking around on its insides. While it displays properly on a terminal interface, I could not get it to load anything from disk. On Mon, Jan 13, 2020 at 12:31 PM Ethan Dicks via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I have a 3P but have not done anything with it http://vintagecomputer.net/OSI/Challenger_3P/OSI_Challenger_3P.jpg I believe Jon Chapman has a working unit. I would venture he will bring, but he may have already exhibited his. b On Mon, Jan 13, 2020 at 1:48 PM Jeff Salzman via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

No 8" floppies on your unit, or are they in a separate box?

I am unsure if the 3P is even complete inside, no 8" drive. I have not looked inside the chassis for years. Usually I take photos, so my guess is that I have never actually worked on it. b
I have a half rack C3-B with 18 inch hard drive. Unfortunately, it's the one non-operational OSI box in my collection. Also, transportation would be a problem for me. I don't remember if my parents' friend had a hard disk or not. I know it cost many thousands of dollars, and "C3-B" does ring a bell, so perhaps he did. I never even got to save programs on his - I just wrote stuff that vanished as soon as I left.
Unfortunately, it's the one non-operational OSI box in my collection.
Unfortunate.
Also, transportation would be a problem for me.
Also unfortunate but I definitely understand. I drive a small station wagon and my limitation is what fits in the back. I can't bring rackable stuff to VCF, at least not with the rack. Cheers, -ethan

I've lost out on the 510 triple CPU boards I bid on so I will just have the 6502 and hopefully will get my reproduction 560Z built for a little bit of PDP-8.
