The floppy drive arrived today, computer was shipped separately and should arrive in a day or two. Drive is super clean and in original Apple (not B&H) shipping box.
Cool, put the box in the museum too. :-) On Wed, May 4, 2016 at 12:33 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

FYI, Please don't put shipping boxes in the museum exhibits Any self-respecting museum does not do this. Unless you like getting as much respect as menial eBay sellers that label everything as NIB !! Dan
I was just kidding, Dan. :-) I do save original boxes. but they don't get framed and hung on my walls (my wife would just love that). On Wed, May 4, 2016 at 1:01 PM, Dan Roganti via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Not that we'd have room anyway, but it's funny you should say that. I thought similarly till the Henry Ford wanted to have the original boxes to display along with a machine. I was surprised at that request but then again I'm not from a highly respected museum like the Henry Ford so goes to show how little I know!! :-) (Seems I'm shown that more often than I'd like to admit ;-) Tony

You have obviously never been to the International Shipping Box Museum in Topeka, KS. You'll have to get a hotel room, you'd need at least two days to see it all. You can even ship yourself to selected Topeka addresses (state house, etc.). It's fun to ride around all day in a delivery truck inside of the shipping box. Yell all you want! They ain't letting you out until the ride is over. Not really for me, but my wife and kids loved it, they kept shipping themselves like two or three times, until our one-week pass ran out. -- @ BillDeg: Web: vintagecomputer.net Twitter: @billdeg <https://twitter.com/billdeg> Youtube: @billdeg <https://www.youtube.com/user/billdeg> Unauthorized Bio <http://www.vintagecomputer.net/readme.cfm>

If I started putting the original boxes on display with my computers my wife would ship me to a Topeka address but the pickup would be in NJ!! Tony
You do realize the drive showed up on May the forth, the official Star Wars day. Too bad the machine itself came a day later. corey cohen uǝɥoɔ ʎǝɹoɔ

Yes i did see that the drive arrived on Dave Brubeck day, maybe we should program it to play "Take 5" -- Matt Patoray Owner, MSP Productions KD8AMG Amateur Radio Call Sign

You need a motion sensor that plays the Imperial Theme song when people get close
I bet we can get the Floppy drive to play that directly :)

And if you're going to make the trip out there, be sure to check out the Extension Cord Hall of Fame in Chesterfield, Missouri. See all the wonderful weird and rare extension cords, power strips, and multi outlet adapters dating back to the early days of electricity! The gift shop is the best, and they have this really awesome key chain made from a real electrical plug. Uh... don't actually plug it in though, the ring is electrically connected to the prongs. Learned that one the hard way. Note that this museum only covers American cords - the International one is in Walla Walla Washington. I hope to see that some day too, if I do, it'll be one hell of a road trip, and I'll be sure to include the rest of the amazing attractions along the way. I've always wanted to see the world's largest staple remover (147 feet tall!) and the History of Matches Museum (located directly between the self serve hydrogen gas store, and the fireworks factory) -Ian
You guys need to start documenting these so I can plan my road trip. I don't want to miss any of the awesome details. On Wed, May 4, 2016 at 3:15 PM, Ian Primus via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
