Does anyone want to watch Tron for our holiday event?
It's 40 years old this year and I think I have a DVD. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of War Games.

Bring it. We can find a place to watch for those interested.

If there's interest in newer media rather than older, I have "The Ultimate Tron Experience" 5-disc Blu-Ray+DVD set. It is supposed to include a better (i.e. more faithful to the original) digital transfer of the original Tron to Blu-Ray than the DVD release. Plus 4 discs of the Tron: Legacy sequel (3D blu-ray, 2D blu-ray, DVD, and a digital copy). -ken
We could certainly watch older movies in a newer media format. But then again, we can always play all of the retro video games using full emulation on modern systems, too. If I was asked to vote on it, I'd probably choose the retro movie on retro hardware option. Otherwise, it would not capture the quintessence of the event.. Or one of those old Sharp vision LCD projectors! Sent from: My extremely complicated, hand held electronic device.

No, The LaserDisc box set special edition includes extras like a short behind the scenes of filming, the trailers and some other extras, the only real “different edit” is a section of the Light Cycle game with the original fully electronic score as the orchestral score was still being recorded at that time. As for the CED, if it’s in good condition it should not skip that much and people I know who worked on CED says it was the best looking master and disc they ever put out, for anything from film. Han did indeed shoot first under the original release. Gregg, your take is incorrect among many other instances of which you insist on harassing people with baseless, made up, and nonsensical information. Both in this mailing list, and in person.
