Not the same company started by Cray, but yes the name still exists and is very big in the high performance computing world. corey cohen uǝɥoɔ ʎǝɹoɔ Sent from my iPhone

HP also acquired SGI, which at some point bought Cray but then sold it as they were dying.
Hmm. I missed that: https://venturebeat.com/2016/08/11/hewlett-packard-enterprise-acquires-sgi-f...

Rackable Systems aquired SGI for like 25 million. Not sure how much Rackable was worth before SGI purchase but sounds like Rackable won. Rackable made PC servers where the rack has servers on front and back, and the hot air is pulled from the middle upwards out of the top of the rack versus front to back. - Ethan
If you think about it HP owns DEC Compaq SGI CRAY if Oracle didn't buy Sun they probably would have bought that too
Looking at Wikipedia, they also own 3com and 3Par. 3Com is interesting; 3Par is too new to be relevant on this list. :)
Hah! They have a few years to catch up with NetApp. I still remember in my early days at the NASA supercomputing facility I worked at... the NetApp filer heads were all DEC Alphaservers. - Ethan
They're like the ultimate vintage computing collectors. On Mon, May 20, 2019 at 3:27 PM Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Too bad DEC, Compaq, and SGI all don't exist any more... On Fri, May 24, 2019, 2:27 PM Drew Notarnicola via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
