Hello all, My name is Ryan and I am glad to be a part of VCF. I've been collecting for over a year now and it quickly became my favorite hobby. I was turned onto this by some people I know in a discord server, and I'm glad to find some hands on help to some of my problems I've been having. I am looking forward to attending this workshop because there is nothing interesting going on in Maryland related to vintage computing. I've collected some interesting stuff over the past year including some IBM 5150s, an Xt and an AT, multiple C64s, and an Apple II. My interests are pretty much anything earlier than 1990 but I can't pass up a good deal. As I said earlier I'm pretty new to all this, but I'm getting the hand of soldering and I've fixed some small stuff and replaced chips in a C64. I'm quite eager to learn! Thanks for reading Ryan

Welcome, Ryan! We are glad to have you here, and we will be glad to help you with your hardware/software issues where we can either live and in person or virtually through email. The C64 is a good beginner machine since it is quite simple and there are still lots of machines and parts out there. Which apple II model do you have? If you think you don't have the room now, just wait a while :) especially if you get into medium and big iron, weather that be computers or other machines. See you there

False. Several of the people here live in the DC region and elsewhere in Maryland. Also, Bob Roswell operates the System Source computer museum in Timonium.
I'm quite eager to learn!

Let’s try this again. ;-) Actually, you’ll be pleased to know that there are several members of this list that are from the Maryland and DC area, not to mention the System Source Computer Museum is located in Maryland as well! Members from given areas will sometimes arrange mini workshops locally with members from the same area. Keep an eye out and perhaps try and arrange one yourself! Tony Bogan

I’d be curious to know how you haven’t heard about others in your area. At VCF we are always promoting awareness of our group and activities. Our mission is to promote the hobby and history of vintage computers. How did you hear about us?

You are a C64 collector so I already know that you have good taste! ;)
