OT - Projector upgrade to 9059 classroom
CDL received a Mitsubishi FL7000U projector as a donation. Also have the Chief Ceiling Mount, and all of the signal cables + two spare lamps Plan is to deploy it in the 9059 Classroom, however we need a 16:9 ratio screen screen as it won't work well with the existing 4:3 Radio screen, Before making one from scratch, is anyone aware of a 16:9 screen around 150" x 84" that we can press into service? I see 180" 16:9 screens on Amazon for under $100 which are close to the dimensions you are looking for but these are wall mount. Dimensions are 156.8" x 88.2". It doesn't come with a frame, just hooks to mount to the wall. But you could build a frame for it and attach using the grommet holes in the fabric. There are more expensive options with a stand frame but not sure how sturdy they would be and if this is for permanent wall mounting it might be better to build your own frame. Largest rollup screen I have dealt with was a 120" and over time the rollup mechanism failed. Mark
Quick Update: In order to have everything in place for VCF East, we (CDL) made a decision on direction We purchased 2 x 2 box steel tubing and corners to support screen fabric, and initially plan to use screen bungees to stretch it out. Short term this is what we went with for the screen itself: https://www.amazon.com/NIERBO-Double-Layer-Projector-Screen/dp/B08JYRRMF6 All of the parts came to less then $400,and gives us an option to upgrade the screen fabric to professional grade should it not fit everyone's needs.
