SUN box keyboard and mouse
Hello! I have here a SUN SPARC 5 system. For the longest it originally ran headless and attempted to either keep up as my website's server. And of course supply me with local files. The website end was downed a while later, the serving of files ended soon after. Problem I now want to restart it as a desktop, and I believe it wears proprietary to SUN connectors for the keyboard and mouse. I did not see any at the swapmeet. 4 It did seem to wear a standard VGA type video out connector on its back though. Would anyone have a spare of the keyboard and mouse that would work on this system available? ---- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature was once found posting rude messages in English in the Moscow subway."

Sparc 5 or Ultra 5?

It did seem to wear a standard VGA type video out connector on its back though. thats odd, normally sparcs have the 13w3

sadly I am in the uk, so postage would kill this..

Hello! Technically it was an UltraSPARC 5 or a 10, but definitely an UltraSPARC5 design. And yes I was surprised to see a conventional VGA style connector poking out of its back. ---- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature was once found posting rude messages in English in the Moscow subway." Gregg, I think that VCF probably has a spare set, but if not, I definitely do. I'll be up for the next workshop. The keyboard and mouse are specific to Sun and there is a long description here: https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/wiki/Sun-Keyboard-Protocol And here is Sun's release notes on the type 5 keyboard (which is electrically identical to the type 4), which contains good generic information as well: https://vtda.org/docs/computing/Sun/hardware/800-6802-12_Type5KeyboardandMou... - Alex On Fri, Jun 5, 2026 at 8:03 AM Gregg Levine via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
