A few workshop notes
Good workshop this time around! Thanks to Jeff for organizing and everyone who attended. A few notes: - Special thanks to Ian, Jason P., Rich, Eric, Jeff J., Jeff B., Matt K., Laura, Martin (remotely), and Adam for all working on VCFed things. - Special thanks to just about everybody who was there Saturday and helped with unloading the IBM System/34. Darn good thing that IA owns a forklift and the military vehicle group guys were there to operate it! That's the right tool for the job, and it sure made easy/short work of unloading the minicomputer. - Last thing I did before leaving today was install the front trim panels on the UNIVAC pallets. Now they look like display platforms instead of forklift pallets: https://tinyurl.com/yctdlkfl. ________________________________ Evan Koblentz, executive director Vintage Computer Federation a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit evan@vcfed.org (646) 546-9999 www.vcfed.org facebook.com/vcfederation twitter.com/vcfederation instagram.com/vcfederation

Yes, agreed. Lots of people got lots of stuff fixed, VCF got some things repaired and other stuff done. It was a relaxed and fun weekend. And I actually got to do my own stuff done, which is a rare thing. We don't usually do workshops so close to VCF East, but our March workshop got cancelled and moved. It worked out well despite it being so close. Actually for the better in a lot of ways. A few weeks to go, still lots of stuff to take care of and headaches to solve.
It was a lot of fun. I don't go to many of these but it was nice to see people and get my hands dirty on some old Compaq portables. Thanks for putting it together. For anyone who's never been involved in managing an event: this is situation normal. :) There are always a ton of last-minute details. Rest assured, as most of you have seen, we always pull off a good event.
Yep! We are a great group of organizers that make a great show and get it done despite obstacles and unplanned emergencies. We get better every year! On Mon, Apr 30, 2018 at 12:16 PM Evan Koblentz <evan@vcfed.org> wrote:

Glad you guys get better every year because I'm doing something wrong! Last evaluation I got said "has hit rock bottom and begun to dig." :p
