I had a great time! I was 1-1 on the repairs which I considered to be coming out ahead. [image: repair_table.jpg] // Mike On Sat, Jan 27, 2024 at 7:59 PM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

The workshop went very well! I spent some time Saturday troubleshooting Corey's ADM-3 terminal which unfortunately turned out to be a no fix - it has some horizontal circuit gremlins I couldn't figure out and have to take a look at later. I thought of some things I should've looked at as I was pulling in the driveway at home of course. The rest of the day was spent being useful where I could, mostly helping David Gesswein and Bob Rosenbloom work on the LINC. I mostly worked on getting fiddly LINCtape mechanisms back together and getting the drive belts tensioned properly. I stayed an extra day on Monday to help out with whatever I could, and was able to see the system successfully boot for the first time in over a decade! Unfortunately the LAP6 tape was in poor shape and seemingly degraded to the point it wouldn't boot a second time, but Gesswein toggled in a simple read program which verified the drive itself is still working properly, so we just need to halt until we can recover what is left and write out tapes in better condition. I also was able to talk with Maki Kato and get pictures of his Tektronix XD88/10 workstation; I'm hoping to help him out as I also work on VCFed's XD88/30, as we both struggle with the lack of available software. Thanks again to everyone at the museum for hosting the event and having me, here's to more!
