Looking to settle an argument... I remember there was once a TV show that taught FORTRAN programming. This would have been the mid-1970's and I think it was broadcast over WNET channel 13 (NYC metro area PBS) in the afternoon. I can't have been the only one to have seen it, but I'm unable to find anything about it on the net. Reply to the list. TIA, Andy

Oh man, I remember that. I didn't see it, but I heard people talking about it. It wasn't The Computer Chronicles, was it? -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
No, not Computer Chronicles. Less polished, more classroom-y. On Tue, Feb 23, 2021, 6:22 PM Dave McGuire via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I never knew the name. But that "FORTRAN for Morons, Geniuses and Hobbits" sounds like a definite possibility. I would need to see a clip to know for sure. On Tue, Feb 23, 2021, 6:22 PM David Gesswein via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Fast Forward? It didn't exclusively teach FORTRAN, but it touched on it and other computer topics in several episodes. Loved the core memory/doughnuts show. I'm not familiar with Fast Forward. Got any clips or images? On Tue, Feb 23, 2021, 6:45 PM William Sudbrink <wh.sudbrink@gmail.com> wrote:

Great, thanks Bill. I remember David Stringer. But this isn't the show I was thinking of either. On Wed, Feb 24, 2021, 11:30 AM William Sudbrink <wh.sudbrink@gmail.com> wrote:
