Hello all, If anyone has a CP/M master disk or any other Commodore CP/M disks for the Commodore 128 I'd like to try preserving them with the Applesauce in the museum. I am bringing a bunch of GCR and MFM disks to test the latest version for other computer models. Thanks, Eric
There are probably copies in the warehouse. If you need help looking for them during the Workshop, let me know. Jeff Salzman On Fri, May 14, 2021, 8:51 AM Eric Rangell via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Didn't Dean send one to Bil Herd recently? Maybe he has another that he can bring this weekend.
Thanks, Eric
I'll do a quick look in my own collection before I leave for the workshop today, and bring it if I find it. However, if we have at least one boxed C128 in the warehouse, odds are that it contains a C128 CP/M disk. I’ll see if I can dig up another working copy On Fri, May 14, 2021 at 11:03 AM Jeff Salzman via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I'm pretty sure I have a factory copy. Be advised that I think there were tweaked improved versions produced.
Very interesting. I wonder if someone has tracked all the versions and differences.

If someone has, I would like to know. I have a (vintage) CP/M program that works fine on one version of the C-128 CP/M disk and doesn't work on another and I've hesitated sharing it until I see more evidence of reliability. In particular, there's a BDOS call to get a menu prompt from the user and on an Altair emulator and CP/M 1.4 it works fine. On the C-128 with CP/M Plus, I had one disk image where it worked and one where it froze. It's a really basic call to read a single char from the console device. It _should_ just work. I was not successful in tracking down the source to that call to see how it was implemented on the C-128. I would love to see some sort of list of what was out there so I can get a handle on the scope for further testing. -ethan P.S. - it's related to the theme for the upcoming VCF East so I'd like to get this working.
