CDL is planning to stock capacitors for linear S-100 power supplies. Looking for suggestions on the values for the 8 volt and +/- 16V rails Martin

If those are anything like the SWTPC power supplies I don't think we should put those in the metal drafting draws. ;-) -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

Most of them are beer can sized for the +8 rail, and quite expensive new! That's why we spent a fair bit of time reforming them and testing performance. You could stock a pretty decent set for the *board* power supplies, those are mostly axial caps, smallish values, and radial tantalums. Thanks, Jonathan

For the 8V rail, I typically used a 20,000 uf / 40V cap (AeroVox 2020086893). About $30.00. Have a list of recommendations for the board level repairs? Suggestions on better options for local stock for repair workshops most welcome! Martin
