Last call for those coming to workshop 9/17 & 9/18
Some participants have mentioned they will repair Apple Macs (68K's). Contact me or post a list of Macs and parts needed, maybe I can bring some of those on Saturday. No freebies but I'll be generous. ;) -- Herbert R. Johnson, New Jersey USA http://www.retrotechnology.com OR .net
Not for a Mac, but I could use a couple of the little screw/socket thing that hold a serial port into the back of the Apple II case ... what are they called?

In the SSC manual they are referred to as "screws" :-)

I think Evan is refereing to the slide lock and the screws. Similar to the Ethernet AUI locks. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

Screws at one end to hold the port in the case, and hex-shaped sockets on the other to attach your serial cable. My //e is missing these for its serial port. Realized that when I disconnected the cord today. Dangling is not good.
I can give you a couple. I assume it's a super serial card? I'm waiting to hear from Alex if he wants me to drop off an se/30. If I come up Saturday morning to drop it off I can bring a couple of the screws for you too. That's too technical. Put it in simple terms I can understand. :)
They are called jackscrews. They come in at least 2 lengths depending on the panel thickness they need to go through. US specced ones are 4-40 thread. :) Tom -----Original Message----- From: Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> Cc: Evan Koblentz <evan@snarc.net> Sent: Fri, Sep 16, 2016 11:36 am Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Last call for those coming to workshop 9/17 & 9/18

I would call them standoffs, though that doesn't really reflect the usage for D-sub ports. - Dave
I've got two Mac IIsi machines and a IIvx all of which need new caps, but I don't know offhand how many of what type i need for those. Its all surfacemount, too. (I wasn't planning to bring them to the workshop, but if someone has caps and a hot air station...) On 9/16/2016 11:23 AM, David Riley via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
