Kind of feels like someone should do a write up on this if it doesn’t exist somewhere already. I have a Pi 2+ lying around, a few different Macs, an Asante bridge and plenty of AppleTalk stuff. If you can get ethernet going on the Mac, another option is getting and older Buffalo NAS which supports appletalk, NetBUI, FTP, and other protocols. Yes, and Windows NT and Windows 2000 also support AFP (up to Windows Server 2003 I think, but most regular users don’t have access to that). I remember running a bridge on an NT box. Irix 5 and 6 support appletalk, and have a menu option to start an appletalk server. So if you have a SGI, you have a Appleshare system ready to use. -andy
