Re: [vcf-midatlantic] OT: Wi-fi range extender
Since power lines typically are not shielded, I doubt if that power line solution is FCC compliant. I have a friend who briefly worked for a power line WAN startup - he said they couldn’t get anywhere because of radiated emissions. regards, Mike Willegal
These are off-the-shelf products that have been around for awhile. I (rather unfortunately) had to study that technology and the available chipsets at the request of a customer recently. It works reasonably well if everything is perfect...if not, not so much. But either way, we've been able to buy that stuff off the shelf for quite awhile now. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA On July 14, 2017 1:09:45 PM Mike Willegal via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

In my house, at least, they work very well. Feeding three units off of one base. On Sat, Jul 15, 2017 at 11:58 AM Dave McGuire via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
