Re: [vcf-midatlantic] [OT] Very OT…desperately seeking data
Unfortunately the mailing list doesn’t allow for attachments, you’ll need to use a photo sharing service and include the link in your messages. On Mon, Jul 1, 2024 at 2:15 PM laurakid via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Also, as seen on pic, there is hardware that is visible that looks like it could perhaps be removed and data extracted from? I was way too optimistic about my chances based on what wasn’t broken and my outdated idea of how to connect drives etc. Oh… and it is and iPhone 11

That is what I thought too, but apparently even though computer sees the device, it cannot access data. According to what I have read in forums this is due to encryption and my inability to get the phone to recognize my face or to type in my password. As to recommendations for screen replacement, which I would certainly consider, the phone was on the side of a highway and run over multiple times so it may be more than that. If someone knows a third party repair place they can refer me to I would happily bring it for them to assess. Thank you all for your insights. I actually thought I was gonna be made fun of for some reason lol Here is what phone looks like now:

For the one month, why not just get the cloud service to aid you in your recovery, you can always cancel it after you no longer need it. Bill On Mon, Jul 1, 2024 at 3:03 PM Christopher Gioconda via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

If it’s just the screen then replacing it might allow for a backup. Otherwise I would look into sending it to a company that specializes in iPhone data recovery like this one. They go as far as swapping chips around to get the device working enough to be able to make a backup. Note that you WILL have to give them your passcode: https://www.iboardrepair.com/ (I have no affiliation with them, but based on their YouTube videos of past work they seem highly professional.) I wrote to ask if you would recommend this company. I am debating bringing it to a local apple certified repair place. Isn’t someone in VCF one of these?
