Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Apple IIe Voltmeter
I think our passion for this hobby should not be confused with what we have to use work. One of the items I face is to write calibration programs using our network ready Fluke 8846[6-1/2digit] This is because our motion control hardware is expected to have nanometer resolution. No amount of precision in an analog meter is going to suffice here. just saying Evan, and you're gonna sell your Dad's 260 ?? I put more sentimental value in the 260 that found in the dumpster dive at work nobody sells their Dad's stuff -- I even kept my Dad's 60yr old Polaroid Land Camera Learn how to use it Dan

Different types of measurement require different functionality in the measurement equipment, and there's almost always a right tool for the job. Whether one is getting paid for it or not doesn't come into that equation, passion or otherwise. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA

The thing is, selling it was his idea. :) He thought it was worth something and we'd split the money. But now you guys got me feeling bad about it...
Don't feel bad Evan. Sentiment is in the heart and mind, not an inanimate object. They remind us of thugs but they are not what matters. It's the memories you have that matter. If it's yours, you do as you see fit, not what others think you should do. As long as it goes to a good home where it may be appreciated then everyone benefits from its sale. If you decide keeping it is the way you want to go then so be it. Whatever YOU decide is the right choice for YOU! Enjoy your weekend! I dunno, man. Some of these inanimate objects have more of a soul than many people I've known. The hardware is important. -Dave On 11/14/2015 03:07 PM, Tony Bogan via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
