Expect to see a bunch of DPS1s hit the market
Looks like someone bought a house in PA and he has a bunch of old computer stuff and has eight DPS 1s. https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageComputers/comments/1adizzs/what_should_i_do_...
Had someone email the guy for me (I'm not on reddit), if it works out they'll definitely be available! Thanks, Jonathan On Monday, January 29th, 2024 at 15:14, Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I wonder if there's any DEC stuff... On Mon, Jan 29, 2024, 3:15 PM Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Funny thing is, I have a bag of about a dozen spare orange plastic switch handles for the DPS-1. But, it looks like those machines are all complete. If you found a stack of IMSAIs like that, you know half of the switch handles would be broken/missing. Bill S. On 1/29/2024 3:41 PM, Vincent B via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

I may poke you about that, I have a spare front panel that I took some switch handles from for a friend who had several broken off in the 80s when he moved.

That's a fact! I think every single IMSAI I've ever bought had broken and/or missing handles! Thanks, Jonathan
If you found a stack of IMSAI's like that you could retire. On Mon, Jan 29, 2024 at 4:02 PM Jonathan Chapman via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Hmmm... Even at 10K a pop, 9 of em... I might stretch 90K to three years if I was careful. I hope to live a little longer than that. On 1/29/2024 4:13 PM, Dave Shevett via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

You could rent them out and get recurring revenue On Mon, Jan 29, 2024 at 5:09 PM Jonathan Chapman via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Indeed, and they're not going to sell for $10K/ea fully repaired. Revision 0 Altair 8800s don't sell that high.
Thanks, Jonathan

Hi Bill, I like to know if you would trade or sell the front panel board in the Kennett Classic store window. That is the one part missing from my S100 systems. I once bought a TRS 80 monitor from you years ago. I reached out to them via reddit offering my help in classifying them or helping them deal with it. I'm in PA so it would not be a burden to go get them. Let them know that my goal in this is to get them into the hands of folks who can restore them or use them to restore others.
