I'm also posting this on the CDL group. I'm not cc'ing them here (not polite). I'm playing with a video walk through of our CDL Makerspace and I'd like to edit the video before posting to Youtube. I've not done any of this before so any pointers? -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies
Resolve is free and available for most systems, it's amazing. Free version does everything - they just want you to buy some of their hardware for better control in the studio version if editing becomes your day job. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/edit <https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/edit> -andy

Agreed. Its good. I've used a few budget PC editing systems in the past I've been using resolve for the last 6 months or so off and on. Particularly brilliant is the different defined views for stages of the editing work that tailor the workspace for the purposes: media import, cut, edit, deliver, etc. Learning curve might be steep for a newcomer to editing beginner but there is a plethora of training offered on youtube. A more approachable product, also free, is from AVS, who also makes some very nice file conversion tools. https://www.avs4you.com/avs-video-editor.aspx On 3/15/2022 6:06 PM, Andrew Diller via vcf-midatlantic wrote:
