Semi-OT: stereo speakers for museum
We're going to need four matching stereo speakers (one for each corner of the exhibit room). I plan to wire together the two at each end of our rectangular space so they're all "front" speakers; this won't be a 5.1 system (but I'll probably put a subwoofer someplace discrete, so it maybe "2.1" so to speak..... I wanted to install speakers in the ceiling. IA management said no. Thus we have to go with conventional speakers. I think the usual black speakers will be ugly against our white walls/ceiling. Does anyone know if decent speakers that are affordable and available in lighter colors? Alternately, if black is this only option then how could we camouflage them?
Thinking aloud: perhaps a single white sound bar at each end of the room would be more a elegant approach. They're not too expensive, available in white, and the audio quality would be fine for our needs.
White surround speakers are available in many styles. But if price is a factor... Depending on the fidelity required, these look like a good choice. The RMS rating should be more than enough to fill that room. Just have to make sure the impedance matches whatever amp you're using. You're welcome. They are rated 50 watt RMS and should work well on most audio amplifiers that are rated at 4 ohms. They are also 5.25" square (looking down from the top) and 8.25" tall. I assume that's without the wall mount attached. On Tue, Mar 13, 2018 at 9:58 AM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
