Since a lot of our members are going to K-Fest and the turn out looks really low we are moving the location of the workshop from the big room (9032-A) to a smaller "classroom" space in 9010-A. This is the same building where our new museum is located. This is also the same space where we will have Festivus. We will need help to move tables from 9032 to 9010. Please let me know if you have any questions. == Jeff Brace
Good question! Philosophers, psychologists and musicians have been contemplating this for centuries. I like how Chachi puts it from the TV show Joanie loves Chachi: Love is caring about another person's needs and desires and placing them above your own. I have questions. First off; What is this thing called, "love"? I will let you know if I have more questions. --

FYI - I agreed to be a local production of Grease (pit band on bass), on both sides of HOPE. So I can't make the workshop this time. I *am* going to VCF W the weekend after that, but now we're into an entirely different thread.

Thanks for arranging this.
Is 220 Vac available at the new location? I want to work on the 400 Hz motor/generator set. Yes, I will check. On Fri, Jul 8, 2016 at 6:12 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Not in the room, but the train guys might have it across the hallway.
Jeff B. can you check with them?
It's in the panel, or at least 208 is. Looks like all three phases are present in the panel.
I'm not saying you are suggesting this, but, we would be in BIG trouble if we mess with the panel. Any such work must be done by a licensed electrician. The good news is, IA has one and he is very nice to us. For example he installed the power pole in the center of the museum.

Yup, just commenting that it's there and a branch could be pulled off by an electrician. I doubt for commercial work that NJ would even let VCF do the work and get it inspected, it probably has to be a certified+bonded electrician for everything. Thanks, Jonathan
OK. There are eight circuits in the classroom. None of them are 220VAC. There is a "radar" room that has 220VAC. I'm looking into getting access to that room. On Fri, Jul 8, 2016 at 6:12 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

There are multiple types of 220 volt outlets. a photo of what they have available would help Bill show up with the proper plug. -----Original Message----- From: Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic Sent: Friday, July 08, 2016 9:06 PM To: vcf-midatlantic Cc: Evan Koblentz Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Workshop July 16/17 location change

That's good news. The room is operated by our friends in NJARC. I'm sure they will open it for us to run a temporary cord.
