My new-to-me C64 has a very failed 6581 SID. 2 voices are bad (one is mostly stuck on), it gets super hot, and after running for a while it makes the machine lock up. Does anyone have a mostly-working SID they would want to part with? PS: Sidbench shows just how broken this one is. I was rather bummed since this seems to be a low hour C64. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU88B_mWQM8 Thanks, -- Jason Perkins 313 355 0085
Not sure I can spare one (my C64s are very disorganized right now), but wanted to let you know that the going price for a SID on eBay is around $40. If you find one cheaper than that, grab it. Chris, I saw that seems to be about the going rate. I was hoping to get a mostly working one for somewhat less than that. -J On Sat, Jun 24, 2017 at 8:23 PM, Chris Fala <chrisjpf33@gmail.com> wrote:

I have like 5-6 C64's in my storage. As far as I know, they all work. One someone "fixed" at one point but never put the screws back in. You'd be welcome to take it apart for parts On Wed, Jun 28, 2017 at 9:37 PM Dean Notarnicola via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
