100ft ethernet cable needed for VCF East
I was able to get two 100ft cables through Martin, but I might need one more for an exhibitor who desires it. Is there anyone that has one that we can borrow for VCF East? Thanks! Jeff Brace Vintage Computer Festival East Showrunner
I have a roll of solid Ethernet cable and could make up a 100' cable. Stranded is normally used which is more flexible and deals with being moved better. For short term use should be ok if nobody else has better. Let me know. On Sat, Mar 09, 2024 at 11:10:28PM -0500, Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

Hello! I happen to have about 304.8 meters of Ethernet that are not doing anything. That should be perfect for your exhibitor. Now how quickly is it needed? Oh and if you're writing your response from InfoAge, be careful. David and Gregg, It seems that the exhibitor might be able to supply the length of cable needed. I estimate it to be about 125 feet. Hold off and I will get back to you if they can't find it. Thanks! On Sun, Mar 10, 2024 at 3:23 PM Gregg Levine <gregg.drwho8@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello! Jeff? Was your exhibitor successful in tracking down the needed lengths of Ethernet? That roll of 304.8 meters of Ethernet, terminated via 8P8C connectors is still available. Oh and the dino is off for next month visiting relatives in Utah and California. ----- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." The Ethernet switch is in the 9032A furnace room, and the cable access hole in the furnace room is only about 3/4" in diameter Be aware whatever is supplied, the connector needs to fit through the existing hole!! On 3/24/2024 7:13 PM, Gregg Levine via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

I am that exhibitor that needs the 125' ethernet cable .. we thought one of our guys had a length this long, but we do not. If this is still available for our set up on Friday, it would be greatly appreciated.. It will be connected in the left/rear of room 9032A.
