OT: looking for Ethernet card for IBM Eduquest 35
All, I have a friend who has an IBM Eduquest model 35 and he's looking for an Ethernet card for it. This is way out of my wheelhouse so figured I'd reach out to the list for help. I can put you directly in touch with him or play middle man, whatever is preferable. Thanks! Tony Sent from my iPhone
Is that a 16bit ISA machine? If so, any NE2000 clone board should do it. I have several extra around here if no one closer has one. http://www.walshcomptech.com/ps2/edq-optcards.htm implies ³yes²: "There are some special option cards for use in the EduQuest systems. While they are in fact normal ISA cards, the component side and connectors on the card are flipped from their normal orientation to fit special "EduQuest slots" in the EduQuest machines. The EduQuest machines that supported these cards also had standard ISA connectors for use with conventional ISA expansion cards.² So NE2000, or better, a 3Com 509B. I dig these compact all-in-one IBM toasters (particularly the PS/2 Model 25, even if it was puny.) Me too, the first computer I bought new with my own money was a PS/2 model 25, which I purchased from IBM while I was working there as a college intern. Windows 1.04 was cutting edge back then. BIll
