Saw this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/294039736399 I am curious what others think of this board. I own a different one already but I was curious, should anyone ask, what are the best replica Apple I motherboards 1) closest to original 2) best functionally I ask because the original board is not as good "functionally" as a modern board made to look like one, i.e. it may not be as reliable because of the manufacturing technique of the original board. I know Mikes has intentional differences put into his replica so it does not come off as an original board, some of these do try to reproduce everything. I am sure Mike and Corey have seen everything and I am curious what they and anyone into replicas of Apple I's think here. Bill
My strongest thought about this one is that it doesn't have gold fingers on the PCB. Otherwise, it looks fine. - Alex On Thu, Aug 12, 2021 at 9:55 AM Bill Degnan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Changing the subject slightly, is there a bill of materials/parts list/etc. available for the parts for the Apple 1? I am aware of a few sellers who sell or auction parts kits for an exorbitant amount of money. I am not concerned with period-accurate date codes, I just want the correct , functional parts. Ideas? I would also like to get some functional parts. I'm likely to try 4116s for the RAM (which I have in abundance) and I don't mind using a newer CPU, but the shift registers are mondo expensive. I haven't come up with a functional substitute yet. I suppose I could steal the technique of Vince Briel's Replica 1 and just put a fast MPU tapped into the furthest point upstream in the video circuit and emulate that bit (he used a Propellor) I am never going to have a photo-exact period replica but I'd like to have something that works that didn't cost hundreds of dollars for 5-6 chips. -ethan
