Here's the new display case
Our new display case for Univac artifacts is set up: http://vcfed.org/evan/univac_case.jpg The top item is a Univac 1 manual. We will put it upright on a stand. Soon we're getting an electric desk fan that John Mauchly brought home from work for his daughter. That will also go in the case. We will put in signs for each item/shelf. Another artifact goes on the left side, so all those wires etc. are hidden. The case has a glass rear panel. We installed a piece of lauan wood with black felt on the front. It looks great in person and creates a semi-mirror effect.
That's a very nice looking case! -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA On September 14, 2016 9:08:51 PM Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Looks great in that spot. Thank you to those who funded the purchase! Tony
There's a small gap between the lauan and the right side. I circled it in red: http://vcfed.org/evan/case_space.jpg ... thinking I will just put some electrical tape back there and visitors will never know. :)

Black Gaffers tape would look better since it is flat black, it also does not leave goo on the surface like electrical tape would. It can also be used to designate landing areas on the floor, it comes up easily from wood/tile and can take being walked over.
Really nice. Classy. On Thu, Sep 15, 2016 at 2:03 PM, Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Thanks for the tip. The volunteers setting up for InfoAge's Halloween event may have that.
