VCF East 2021 Exhibitor Registration is open!
Sorry for the delay, but we wanted to make sure everything was in place as we start gearing up for VCF East 2021! Our assumption is that we will be doing a live show with few restrictions as things are looking really good in New Jersey and are expected to be even better by October. This is the link for registration of your exhibit: https://forms.gle/HMMqS5NbaS3Cu5c18 Over the next few weeks we will be sending out updates on VCF East 2021. We already have some exciting speakers lined up for the show and we have some changes to the show that I hope everyone will find exciting and make it a more festive Festival. ========================================= Jeff Brace Vice President & Board Member Vintage Computer Festival East Show-runner Vintage Computer Federation is a 501c3 charity http://www.vcfed.org/ jeffrey@vcfed.org
I’m psyched to volunteer. Keep me posted. Yes. We will need volunteers. I will be making a call for that soon!

Hello! I am decidedly interested in volunteering. What exactly happens when one does that? ----- Gregg C Levine gregg.drwho8@gmail.com "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." On Sat, May 15, 2021 at 7:25 PM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I got my shots! I'm probably not first, but for once, I didn't wait until the last minute to register. Interactive Fiction has been a huge part of my computing experience going back to the late 70s (not a surprise for those who know me) and I've exhibited on the theme a couple of times before. My biggest challenge is narrowing down the field. My second biggest challenge is fitting all the gear into a Prius! If I can get it fully operational, one machine I'd like to bring is a VAX-11/725. If that doesn't pan out (RC25 disk drives *suck*), I'll probably nab a Qbus MicroVAX to represent for minicomputers, though a MicroVAX 2000 is also a candidate. Since I'm hauling things 1200 miles round-trip, it would be really, really nice if I could borrow a couple of dumb terminals and save my cargo space for CPUs. If that's viable, we can discuss type later. Cheers, -ethan

I'll be representing the minis with an HP 3000 Micro XE. I'll have 5 terminals available for login to MPE-V, and Adventure and Mystery Mansion for those interested in text adventures. Of course, MPE-V is capable of MUCH more than games. :-) Mike Loewen mloewen@cpumagic.scol.pa.us Old Technology http://q7.neurotica.com/Oldtech/

Cool! The largest (physical) thing I'm contemplating bringing is a VAX-11/725 if I can get the RC25 working. Big *if*. Outside of that I don't have any small Unibus disk, so I'll drop back to a MicroVAX. I'm going to see if I can get my Perkin-Elmer 7350 Workstation working (it spins up but there is NiCd damage that I think has wacked the keyboard traces). That's a nice 68000 workstation from the early 80s that has a CRT/keyboard console and 4 serial ports for additional terminals. There's essentially no hardware documentation so I have to trace it out from the keyboard connector into the backplane and onto whatever card manages the keyboard. Possible but tedious. So many choices of what CPUs to include. I'm really trying to come up with some obscure entries, not just PET/Apple/TRS-80 or Amiga/Mac/etc. Definitely plan to have 2-3 minis in the mix. 8" floppies where appropriate because 5.25" are kinda pedestrian. PDP-11 and VAX are high on the list but I might have a surprise micro or two that people don't think of as Adventure Game platforms. -ethan
