Donation of the day: 9508S Microsystem Emulator
After a few attempts at picking up, I finally was able to pick up this machine from Cliffside Park. It is the 9508S Microsystem Emulator. What is it? How does it work? Come to the workshop Feb 11 & 12 to let us know. :) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9SJLfGXYiG5R1FMUlo0NC1NekE?usp=shar... -- Jeff Brace - ark72axow@gmail.com
It's a microprocessor emulator, for development and debugging. I don't know which processor(s) this one is for, but it likely has a target pod that is labeled with what processor it's for. This one is probably in the 8080/Z80/6800/6502 era Basically the pod plugs into a system in place of the processor, and this device emulates the processor but gives the developer an inside view of the instruction stream and internal processor states, registers, etc. -Dave On 02/05/2017 02:35 PM, Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

Dang the commonality of the name makes it impossible to find. :( I have something similar for the Z80 (Applied Microsystems Corp. EM-180B I think). They're probably useless without the pod. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

Indeed, and usually the pods are nearly impossible to find, or stupid expensive. I ended up selling my Applied Microsystems 8085 emulator for that reason! Thanks, Jonathan
