Repair workshop Nov. 9 & 10
We still have plenty of space available for The next VCF repair workshop is Nov 9 & 10, but space will fill up quickly, so ... Signup here: < https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Le5_EtutRBgnOc9_4gLxJb7CGGEpIuTQWjZK...
This time it will be in CDL (formerly known as IXR), the hackerspace by the front gate entrance. Also known as 9059 or the Telecom Building. I think I will do things differently with the food this time as there were some people who never paid for pizza or dinner and I was short on money last workshop. -- ========================================= Jeff Brace Vice President Vintage Computer Federation
Just curious... I am assuming the hackerspace has a collection of spare electronic parts in inventory. If so, would we have access or ability to buy items from that inventory if we need it? On Sun, Nov 3, 2019 at 8:07 PM Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

Yes, they do have a collection of parts that are available. I can’t say which parts are available, but VCF has used some in the past when there was difficulty finding one on hand.

I think I'll be able to make this workshop. I have a couple early compact mac SCSI drives which work, but seem to have picked up a virus :( Disinfectant could remove it if the system was clean booted. Does someone have another system / drive they could bring to help me clean these disks up? Thanks! I won’t be able to make the workshop, but if you wanted to detour by Philly on your way in I have quite a few 68k machines you’d be welcome to borrow. I think at the easiest there’s an LCIII that’s not in use.

I've got some scsi cables. I'll have to think about how to make a "clean" boot disk from it. Thanks, On Thu, Nov 7, 2019 at 7:31 AM Andy Diller <dillera@gmail.com> wrote:
