There are too few session slots already. We're not going to devote any
of
them to badges.
This gives me an idea though ... a few years ago we had a single assembly session, which wasn't enough.
We could have a whole track of assembly classes for different processors. Bring your laptop (and favorite emulator), follow along with the instructors.
just some constructive suggestions try to allot more than 1hr, maybe 2hr so the class has time to get situated, practice the example code, and ask questions Because this is most likely a beginners class, because if it's any higher level of instruction, well, there still won't be enough time alloted for the experienced users if you expect to squeeze 4 or 5 different assembly classes into a single track on one day Als4o the instructor should have some method to make the example code available, eg, a wiki page, which they can download prior to the class, or handout a usb thumbdrive to share the example code [again time needed to get situated] Dan
When I used to run the workshops we had targeted objectives for the assembly class I may still have the worksheet Dan created for the cp/m gen class that involved z80 assembly. That was at least 10 years ago.
The event-long XT-IDE workshop, I think, did really well last year. A lot of people were able to build boards up, test them in a known-good XT, and take home something that they were 100% sure would work. Since it ran for the whole event, a number of people would come in, work some, then take a break and come back later. I'd be happy to help run something like that for badges, whether it's Lee Hart's badge or something else. Jon and I discussed a VCF Single Board Computer last year. It didn't happen in time, but that is a good route if we can make it happen for this May. We're not going to devote our resources to badges from another event.

First off: *I apologize since I couldn't figure out how to change the subject line via the Gmail web interface. *Now back to the message! Actually, that is not really accurate regarding the 6502 Badge. Since there has been some interest, I have had some correspondence with Lee Hart about the 6502 badge project and I am purchasing 25 basic kits to sell at my vendor space at VCF-E. Lee pointed out that this badge is not a VCF-MW product; it is a product of the design team comprising Lee Hart*, * Josh Bensadon and Daryl Rictor. They simply took it to VCFMW as our first opportunity to sell it. The PCB silkscreen was customized and the default message was changed for the event by the design team. Lee has had to order two more batches of boards since then. One batch went to Germany, for their VCF in Berlin last fall. Another went to a French VCF. He has another order for the VCF in Switzerland in March. Here are links to the images for the current Rev C boards. The default message is "6502 badge for VCF" which can be changed through accessing the monitor program through the serial interface <http://www.sunrise-ev.com/photos/6502/badgeCfrontPCB.gif> <http://www.sunrise-ev.com/photos/6502/badgeCbackPCB.gif> I will also be offering some of Oscar Vermuelen's KIM UNO boards (assembled) and some of Sergey Kiselev's Z-80 based Zeta2 and ParPortProp boards (assembled) running CP/M among the usual S-100, Apple, early IBM PC stuff and assorted micro trainers. Regards, Jeff

I understand now. When I heard Midwest + badge, I took those words at face value.

Jon C. will be selling his own kits in 9059 (the IXR hackerspace building). Hopefully there will be enough table space for people to build his kits and also the ones you're selling.

I wonder if anyone would want a badge case. I could pre-make some. - Alex On Thu, Jan 11, 2018 at 8:26 PM Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Getting back to this, Jeff, would you want me to make some of the badge cases, like the one that Todd has? If you're going to offer 25 badge kits, I could provide 10 or so badge cases? - Alex On Fri, Jan 12, 2018 at 1:49 PM, J. Alexander Jacocks <jjacocks@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Jeff Brace, This was meant for me. I will respond to Alex off list. Regards, Jeff Galinat
I find a lot of documentation for the AIM-65, but is there a site with the complete System-65 documents? I’m trying to port a program for that system and need to find definitions of functions and memory locations associated with the disk drive subsystem. Intelligent guessing gets tiring after a while and the original documents would make this a lot easier. Bob
I have the RM-65 Disk manual and ROM image on my Web site. Not sure if you looked at it previously.
