Nothing truly vintage, unfortunately. Got the Nameco Museum game for the Switch and a new Apple Watch though. http://www.classiccmp.org/cini Long Island S100 User’s Group Get Outlook<https://aka.ms/qtex0l> for iOS ________________________________ From: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic-bounces@lists.vcfed.org> on behalf of Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Sent: Sunday, December 27, 2020 5:54:08 PM To: vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> Cc: Jeffrey Brace <jeffrey@vcfed.org> Subject: [vcf-midatlantic] New goodies? Fujikura 19S Fusion splicer - already used it to clean up a cut caused by an HVAC contractor confusing fiber for pneumatic lines. Weekend rate + Holiday surcharge ! On 12/27/2020 5:54 PM, Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

C64 Maxi? Is that finally available in the US? If so, where did you get it?
Yes. Available in the US. I ordered through Amazon. It was backordered and delayed many times, but I finally got it about a week ago.
Amazon always shows it as Currently unavailable when I check.
It's possible that there are none left. I found out that it was available through my circles in the C64 community. Namely IRC chat #64friends on freenode.
Thanks.

Well, congrats on getting one. You are lucky. You’ll have to let us know how it works out. It seems easily available in the UK. So I don’t know why they only made such a limited number of the US version. Someday, I hope to acquire one. BTW. I forgot to mention. I didn’t get anything directly vintage. I did get an Apple TV 4K. I also got an El Capistan Tape Echo for my Synths and Theremin. That’s kind of vintage in an emulated kind of way. I did get my kid an M1 Mac mini. It’s shockingly fast, even compared to my i7 MacBook. I also got him Mario Kart Live Luigi Edition for the Switch. That is uber cool. - Derrik

I managed to get a “The C64” from Amazon. I guess I got in the brief window when they were available. Very nice, better than the Mini in several ways. I also got a Hakko FR-301 desoldering gun and a small portable TS80P USB-C powered soldering iron. Both great quality tools. My wife got me a Hantek 2D72 handheld oscilloscope. Not itself retro, but extremely useful for diagnosing vintage machines. - Alex On Mon, Dec 28, 2020 at 01:22 Jeffrey Brace via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

A while back I had been talking with my son about the good old days of "klicky" (buckling spring) IBM keyboards. He took note and got me a Unicomp Model M. Feels like 1983 again! https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/NEW_M Glenn

Atari FujiNet adapter. So cool! Connected to BBSes, Plato system and mounted disk images from online so far. 800XL was my first computer many years ago. Godbout Ram 17 which I haven't had a chance to play with yet.
