Oops, meant to post that. I tweeted it Monday from my work account (@TechnicallyEvan) but should have used the @Vcfederation account. ________________________________ Evan Koblentz, director Vintage Computer Federation a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit evan@vcfed.org (646) 546-9999 www.vcfed.org facebook.com/vcfederation twitter.com/vcfederation instagram.com/vcfederation

I had read it elsewhere yesterday or Tuesday and just realized I'd not seen it on the list when I saw this article. There was someone who'd have been a great VCF keynote! So many important names from my computing youth (many of them names I did not know at that time) passing into history. Tony
I disagree with the author's opinion that Steve Jobs didn't have more detailed knowledge of the Alto before the Macintosh. If you read "Dealers of lightning", then you will read firsthand detailed accounts of what actually happened and when from people that actually worked on the Alto at Xerox. I think that the author needed to do more research. Who did he interview at Standford University? I didn't actually read the whole article, so I hadn't noticed that. When I saw this article it reminded me of the one I saw a couple days ago so I posted about his death. Went back and read it after seeing your email. I agree that the writers info conflicts with previous information. Tony
