Re: [vcf-midatlantic] Tandy 6000
Also, don't forget that the HxC firmware is available for the Gotek, making it just as compatible as the real HxC drives, if not quite as well made and attractive. - Alex On Fri, Jan 11, 2019 at 2:28 PM Peter Cetinski via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:
Not sure about the Gotek. I know the standard HxC works well with the 8” Tandy’s.

Of course, you are correct. I have a Gotek handy. Do you happen to know if the flashfloppy firmware makes it compatible with the 6000?

A few of the install disks are double sided as well.
I highly recommend getting an HxC floppy emulator for the 6000. The full Xenix install will push your TM-848 drive to the max.
Also a good idea to image the diagnostics disk first so you can run the full test suite of 68k diags before attempting the Xenix install.

I'll be bringing a Tandy 6000 to the workshop in addition to the Mac Color Classic II that I'll be attempting to restore. Would anyone have a set of TRSDOS II 4.2/4.3 or TRS-Xenix 3 (preferably) disks? I have some blank 8" I can use to copy them, or I'd be very happy to compensate someone for a set of one or both.
