OT: Recommendations for Hotels in InfoAge area
It's been many years since I have stayed in hotels in the InfoAge area, so I have a rough idea of how good or bad certain ones are. I need more current recommendations. Can anyone tell me which ones that they recommend and which ones to avoid? I'm asking because some speakers that will be staying in the area during VCF East want recommendations. So far I have a recommendation for Courtyard Wall at Monmouth Shores Corporate Park (part of Marriott chain). This will also help me if anyone else wants a recommendation. I can put on the website for VCF East possibly. I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn at Tinton Falls many times; it has always been pretty good. -Dave -- Dave McGuire, AK4HZ New Kensington, PA
Kim and I stayed at the one in Neptune twice It fit the bill. It was clean and cheap. Near it is a small greasy spoon called Roadside Diner 5016 NJ-33, Wall Township, NJ 07727 We liked that too. I've stayed at the Monmouth Shores Corporate Park many times and can recommend it. I've also stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Lincroft Red Bank and can recommend it. Both as recent as the pandemic. There's also a Sonesta Select Tinton Falls Eatontown down the street from where I now live that I stayed at years ago when it was a Marriot and liked it (yeah, I like Marriott), but I'm not sure how it is under the new ownership. I've also stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Tinton Falls pre pandemic, but it is a bit motel like. Certainly acceptable, but not my first choice. A little further out, my favorite trick for avoiding shore pricing, I've also stayed as recently as the pandemic at the Courtyard by Marriott Edison Woodbridge, but it is over a half hour drive to InfoAge whereas the others are 10-20 minutes. Second the Monmouth corporate park but also recommend holiday inn express in Neptune. I stayed there the last 2 times in the area and it was nice and very affordable. Sent from my iPhone

I have always stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott in Neptune on Jumping Brook. It is pricey, but very clean, good service, free breakfast, etc. At the last VCF, Bill Mensch and his wife ended up staying there too and had no complaints. My wife and I have stayed at that Residence Inn a couple times and it remains our top pick when the price is right. Lately, it hasn’t been, or it’s been booked, so we’ve been staying at the Hampton Inn Neptune/Wall, which I’d also recommend. Both these hotels are near the outlet mall, which is a useful amenity to me as there are EV chargers there. (The Hampton Inn /might/ also have some but now I can’t find evidence they do.) In pre-pandemic times, I’ve stayed at an AirBnB in Belmar that I enjoy, if only for the resident feline staff. :) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19219858 We also found the Sea Girt motel perfectly decent the one time we stayed: https://www.seagirtlodge.com/ My first time at VCF East I hadn’t really researched other than “sort by price,” and consequently I will NOT recommend the motel on Rt. 33 which I can’t even find on Google Maps anymore. — Jameel Akari
