New museum furniture / special fundraiser
Everyone, In the new museum, we're going to need about $3,000 for exhibit furniture, more electrical power, converting the single door into a double-wide door, and all sorts of small things. Can you (or your company) please help? We set up newmuseum@vintagecomputerfederation.org. Funds into that account will only be used for building the new museum display. We already have $1,000 budgeted for this purpose. This list has 162 members. To get the remaining $2,000, that works out to about $13/person -- one nice lunch. Thank you!
Have you considered a gofundme for Kickstarter to make for people to donate? (go to page, provide credit card info) Devin On Jan 9, 2016 12:13 PM, "Evan Koblentz via vcf-midatlantic" < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Devin beat me to it. Definitely would recommend a gofundme/Kickstarter campaign. Tony

There's not much advantage to doing it that way. Social fundraising is good for appealing to the general public and people you don't know. We are appealing to the 160ish people in this list -- our friends. We can also accept checks if there is anyone who doesn't like PayPal. Nice to see a new target for the new year might want to add a post about this on the VCFed website too didn't see one - unless you're posting it now for any visitors that look there before here or FB And maybe even add a designated PayPal button for Donations on there to smooth the donation process -- people like it smooth Have your FB,Twitter, Forum, etc announcements direct them to the VCFed website so they can click on the PayPal button too Dan
Donations are going well so far. We are up to $375. Thank you to everyone! Looking forward to seeing the number increase throughout this weekend. :)
You guys are awesome! We're up to $950. Almost halfway there in just one day.
Don't limit it to that. The more we get the more cool things we can do in the new space. Don't forget just give me a list or a spread sheet of names, email addresses and amounts and I'll get letters out in the next few weeks. Our group are a bunch of great guys and really believe in the hobby. Cheers, Corey corey cohen uǝɥoɔ ʎǝɹoɔ

Just a reminder to everyone who donates... VCF is a federal 501c3 charity. We will be sending gift letters for 2016 tax year and also publicly acknowledging everyone who donated to the new museum space. Here is your chance to be immortalized in the new space :-) Cheers, Corey corey cohen uǝɥoɔ ʎǝɹoɔ

Hi Corey, Will we also be getting gift letters for 2015 year end donations? Regards, Jeff Galinat
Yes I will be sending out letters for donations that were made to the 501c3 at the end of 2015 in the next few weeks (by the end of January if not sooner) so people can file their taxes. Cheers, Corey corey cohen uǝɥoɔ ʎǝɹoɔ

Fourteen people contributed so far. We have $1,120 in the fund. VCF already budgeted $1,000, making the total $2,120. We are seeking $3,000 for the project. Thus we still need $880.
We're at $1,320 of the $2,000 goal, 66% of the way there.
Now we're up to $1,495.
