Corvus had a Mirror option for their Winchester drives that allowed backup to VHS

That's what I remember from the mid 80s. It used a regular VHS recorder and tape. No remote control or I-R blaster. You had to press play, record, stop just like using an audio cassette. I never used it since it was just too manual and unreliable. Even with recording everything 3x, the tape quality was not enough to guarantee error free operation. -- Jeff Jonas
