When and where is Festivus this year?
I'm interested in going and would like do know the dates, times, locations, etc. Where can I find this information? Who do I ask about it? -- Jeff Brace - ark72axow@gmail.com

Jeff's subtly-chosen wording was intended to generate a new thread to again encourage people to sign up for Festivus so he will have an accurate head count for preparation purposes. As most of you know we have been talking about this for a few weeks now but there are a few stragglers who have not reponded. It's at InfoAge just like always, same deal. Bring a llama just like last year. Jeff just wants to know who is coming. He has that spreadsheet with the signup for (when you're coming/what you're bringing). Jeff, Idea - create an event with the VCF facebook page and invite everyone in our group so they can use that system to respond and allow you to keep track of things too, in addition to a separate spreadsheet. In fact all events can be managed that way. Do you do that already? Bill

A lot of our members aren't on Facebook. Also this is more of a private party for the local chapter; Facebook is seen my zillions of people in all sorts of other places.

I still say it's his hangover from his BDay party :)
It's too bad we don't have some sort of a mailing list that all of our local members are on. That way, all you'd have to do is announce the event to one email address, and everyone would receive that email! That makes sense. We should start a mailing list. On Tue, Nov 8, 2016 at 12:24 PM, Ian Primus via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

:) Well you are among the slackers who didn't put your name on the spreadsheet...
Also, I bring pretty much the same sorts of stuff every year, and have since the very first Festivus. In any event, I added myself to the spreadsheet. -Ian On Tue, Nov 8, 2016 at 12:37 PM, Systems Glitch via vcf-midatlantic <vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Some people are cool enough that they don't need to be on a list to party :P
Thanks, Jonathan

But they're not cool enough to make the list ;-) And to help the OP (I hope): Please put yourself down here or let me know and I will do it for you: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1flOzpjh4Wdd3Gn6B3DqWHpQmxYSQGrtFo20h... LOCATION: InfoAge Building 9010A - (2201 Marconi Road, Wall Township, NJ) - It will be the classroom area that we usually have our workshops. TIME: Start about 10 A.M. on Saturday and goes late into the night until everyone sleeps. End about 5 P.M. on Sunday. (Re-starts around 10 A.M. Sunday morning) COST: $10 for all members attending the workshop, which VCF donates to InfoAge as thanks for providing the space for us. EQUIPMENT: VCF will have tables setup for food and games. Ian will be bringing his vintage video games and TVs. Dan Roganti and Jeff Brace will be setting up their Commodore 64 internet game for eight players. We will have a full sized refrigerator to temporarily store stuff. We will be borrowing a grill to cook hambugers and hot dogs outside. DRINKS: Everyone is encouraged to bring their own drinks and enough to share with others. Bring your favorite and put what you are bringing on the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1flOzpjh4Wdd3Gn6B3DqWHpQmxYSQGrtFo20h... FOOD: This is a pot luck. Bring your own favorite good and put what you are bringing on the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1flOzpjh4Wdd3Gn6B3DqWHpQmxYSQGrtFo20h... ENTERTAINMENT? It seems that interest has waned for showing movies, so I'm inclined to not bother with showing movies this year. However Ian will bring his Cards Against Humanity and we will be playing that! -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog Author of: Linux Smart Homes For Dummies

I think it's at Evans Area
For any new-ish members who may not know: "Camp Evans" or "Evans Area" or "Evans Signal Lab" etc. was the Army designation for what's now the InfoAge Science Center where our museum resides. It was definitely not named for me :) and the Festivus party definitely isn't at my house. :)
