All, Hate to be That Guy on a listserv, but some folks are sending non-plaintext emails, which the listserv turns into an attachment (I get a body of "Empty Message" with something like email-1.eml attached). I don't bother to read those, and I suspect few who read text-only mailing lists do either. You can typically configure an email client, even most webmail clients, to treat listservs as plaintext-only. Please consider taking the time to do that for those of us who will otherwise just ignore the message. I also don't know what it looks like on whatever the web presentation of the list is. Thanks, Jonathan
Thanks, Jonathan, for being "that guy". ;-) It feels like we have been trying to solve this issue for years. Your suggestions are appreciated. Chris On Wed, Jan 26, 2022 at 11:26 AM Jonathan Chapman via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vcfed.org> wrote:

I'm pretty sure the culprits are Mobile MUAs, not Desktop or Webmail Uis. -andy

Not to be contentious, but few if any take a moment to trim unneeded quotations, thereby making the reply far easier to read. So I'm not going to jump through hoops to make my repies more readable. That is until such a time as the process can be made automatic. If someone doesn't want to read my posts, ok, that's their prerogative. Clearly there are cases where including quotations is necessary. But but having to wade through tons and tons of crappola across the screen ain't no fun. It's killing the planet! But maybe it's for the best :) Some sort of web app can be employed to turn all outgoing mails to plain text. I'll look into that eventually.
