VCFers, I'm looking for a new job at the moment. If anyone knows of a systems / network admin position in the DC area could you drop me a line? I've mainly worked with Microsoft stuff (ADDS, Exchange, Powershell...) but have done some Linux stuff as well. On the networking side Sonicwall is what I'm most familiar with, followed by Cisco. Thanks! -- Jason Perkins 313 355 0085

Or change locations. Here in NY that is not unusual at all. And I know guys making more than that too. Of course, cost of living changes significantly so its probably a wash! -----Original Message----- From: vcf-midatlantic [mailto:vcf-midatlantic-bounces@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org] On Behalf Of Christian Liendo via vcf-midatlantic Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2017 12:39 PM To: vcf-midatlantic Cc: Christian Liendo Subject: Re: [vcf-midatlantic] OT: Looking for a new job $120k to $140 for an AWS System Admin? I live in Hells Kitchen in NY. I have multiple 10Gbps Direct Connect Connections to multiple peered VPCs in multiple availability zones to connect to my datacenters and I manage the network and the security zones for at least 12VPCs. Thats on top of all the other Networking Work I do.. It's Thurs, if I felt better I would need a drink. On Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 1:22 PM, W2HX <w2hx@w2hx.com> wrote:

I don't work for AWS but probably terabits of their bandwidth is around the corner from where I'm sitting in the building I'm sitting :-) I assume it's all AWS peering feeding cross connects, not sure -- we don't peer with them. Crazy amounts of connectivity though. I think they have over 30 datacenters around the area for the whole EAST zone. Of all the datacenters in the area I actually don't know many locations of theirs (yet.) Been thinking about starting a mapping project. They're decently spread out. - Ethan

But you can have the convenience of living in a condo in Winchester -- just commute in! :P

Ya, housing costs in VA / DC are 3x what they were in Michigan... -J On Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 1:24 PM, Ethan via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:

Jason, Can you send me a resume? Do you have any AWS experience? We are looking for Devops people, but AWS is important. You may also want to look here... https://www.ntiva.com/about-us/careers/#job-openings Thanks Bob Flanders On Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 8:42 AM, Jason Perkins via vcf-midatlantic < vcf-midatlantic@lists.vintagecomputerfederation.org> wrote:
