Seeking Apple II Plus DOS System Master Disk
Hello Everyone, I'm working to test out my new Apple II Plus and in need of a DOS System Master Disk. I can find them on eBay but thought I'd try the group first. Thank you, -- Anthony Scarola 757-418-0082 anthony@scarolas.com
I'd recommend using a drive emulator. Keeping the old floppy drives running can be quite a challenge. They're fun and nifty, but alignment issues, gummy drive bands, etc are just a headache. The bigmessowires guy has a great emulator board (I have the mac version) that will let you boot just about anything off the SD. https://shop.bigmessowires.com/products/floppy-emu-model-c-bundle?variant=41... If you have a serial card, you can use the ADT software. Apple Disk Transfer. It's magic. Run the java software on PC/Mac/Linux, type command that redirects serial to rom monitor. It types out the bootstrap code. Then it can transfer disk images from modern system straight to floppy. This way you need no floppies on your Apple II to make a boot disk for your Apple II. - Ethan On Tue, 8 Feb 2022, Anthony Scarola via vcf-midatlantic wrote:

If you're near Kennett Square, PA you're welcome to make your own boot disk for an Apple //, III, MAC, etc. using the systems, drives and media on hand there. Specific to this thread there are a number of working Apple //'s of various types with drives (5 1/4" 3.5") and at least one emulator cards available (for sale) as of this writing. Many versions of DOS on hand. Check kennettclassic.com/contact.cfm for hours before your trip, store hours vary in the winter. Bring your own disks or purchase new or NOS 5 1/4", low density 3.5, HD 3.5 disks. The service is free, disks and hardware are not. Anthony, Where are you located? This will help someone who is closest to you help with a copy of the disk. The VCF museum will be able to accommodate you, but you would have to come to us and let us know that you are coming ahead of time. Jeff
